Applications for prototype funding 2023 open March 3

From today, March 3 to April 5, founders, start-ups, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for the prototype funding. Applicants can apply for up to 120,000 euros for the development of prototypes for digital games. Through the funding program, Gamecity Hamburg will provide a total of 400,000 euros for game developers on behalf of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in 2023.

Three Questions to: Elbphilharmonie concert hall about their online escape game

Hamburg's famous Elbphilharmonie concert hall recently released its first game - yes, you've read that correctly: Together with the Hamburg-based digital agency Pop Rocket Labs, they've developed an online escape game in which players must save a classical concert by solving puzzles. Federal Games Funding: Applications open again from January 1, 2023

Good news for the German games industry: as of January 1, developers and studios can submit applications for the federal funding for video games. The funding for 2023 amounts to 20 million euros, and it is on a first-come, first-served basis.

To support Hamburg’s games industry and promote young talent, Gamecity Hamburg offers a funding program for the development of digital game prototypes. The funding supports up to 120,000 euros per project as a non-repayable grant.

Games Lift

The Games Lift Incubator supports young talent, founders, and start-ups in creating concepts and demos for digital games. Up to five teams are supported in our annual batch for three months with mentoring, workshops, workplaces in Hamburg’s Code Working Space and a funding of 15,000 euros per team.
