supernightshift

Games Lift 2021

supernightshift is a minimalistic puzzle racer on the nightly streets of Hamburg. Strategically combine the different means of transportation the city has to offer to reach your destination as fast as possible. Watch your travel budget and don't dawdle on your smartphone, or you'll run out of time!

The Game

supernightshift is like a night drive: dark, atmospheric, mysterious. The eponymous nightshift in supernightshift is powered by a detailed traffic simulation, that realistically models the map of Hamburg, bus and subway lines, down to individual traffic lights. supernightshift is a racing game that challenges the player to master not merely one single vehicle but hundreds of them. Only skilful anticipation and a combination of different means of transportation will lead to a destination in time and within the tight limits of the player’s travel budget. And thanks to the complex underlying traffic simulation there will always be yet another path through the dense city traffic that is even faster, even cheaper, even more challenging than the previous one.

The Team

For more than ten years, consider it GmbH has been active in research and development, technology consulting, and prototyping. Besides its two focus areas of V2X and DLT, the company has been consistently venturing into new business areas and research fields. supernightshift combines the company’s expertise in traffic systems with its experience in building mobile apps to develop a mobile game. The team developing supernightshift, Timo Schneider and Kevin Westphal, together already have brought several development projects to a successful close. While Timo Schneider brings extensive know-how as IT project manager for Lufthansa Technik AG, Chainstep GmbH, and NXP AG, Kevin Westphal, having realized various performance installations, is well-versed in dramaturgy and visual design.
