Portfolio Slam #4 Game Art in cooperation with PAGE

Gamecity
29. März, 2022, 18.30 – 22.00 Uhr
At our fourth Portfolio Slam, three students or young professionals will present their Game Art portfolio on stage and get feedback from an expert jury. Join in to see some inspiring game art, learn from the feedback and network with other game artists and people from the Hamburg games industry!

Clear the ring for the fourth Portfolio Slam!

If you want to find a steady job as a game artist with companies in the games industry or acquire jobs as a freelancer, you need a convincing portfolio. But what exactly defines a good portfolio? Usually, the review of portfolios takes place behind closed doors. In many cases, applicants do not receive any helpful feedback after the review.

Join the Portfolio Slam and get insights what makes a good Game Art portfolio!

At our fourth Portfolio-Slam, you’ll get the opportunity to learn what experts look for in a portfolio review: Three students or young professionals will present their portfolio on stage. They will receive constructive feedback from a jury composed of experienced Game Artists and after the three slams, the jury and audience vote together for the best portfolio of the evening.

So join in to be part of the audience, cheer on the three slammers, see some inspiring game art and learn more about what makes a portfolio convincing from the feedback of the jury!

After the slam, there will be plenty of time to network with the slammers, other participants, the jury and people from the Hamburg games industry over a drink – your chance to broaden your network with new contacts with fellow game artists and companies from Hamburg!

Get your portfolio checked

Thanks to our sponsor InnoGames every participant will now have the opportunity to get individual feedback on their own portfolio, even if they don't want to present it on stage. Frank Härtenhoff, an experienced game artist from InnoGames will be around for the networking part of the evening and take the time to look at your portfolio and give you some tips on how to improve it!

Frank Härtenhoff has been working as a concept artist in the games industry for almost 10 years.
He has worked for Goodgame Studios as a marketing artist and currently works for Innogames where took part of the development of Forge of Empires for 4 years and is now working on an undisclosed new project. He hopes to help all the new and upcoming artists on their journey.
